The Shadows of Sex and God

 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.

~Gen 1:26~

Beloved all that is in God confidently resides in us. When God said let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; we didn’t only receive the tree fold nature of God but also the imminent nature of God within us. It is in that nature that God commanded us to be “fruitful and multiply” and “to have dominion over everything on this earth” Humanity at the point of his creation, possessed every bit of God in them, and this was cut short when humanity sinned. But before sin appeared on the scene, man had the undeniable task of finding out all that God has placed within them through fellowship with Him.

 

Romans 1:28 says ‘and even as they did not RETAIN God in their KNOWLEDGE, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting’.

 

In other words beloved, as man continues to fellowship with God, they through the oneness of the Spirit, download from their Spirit man where the fullness of God resides, and have the innate ability to RETAIN that KNOWLEDGE which will bring them (HUMANITY) to the fullness of who they are as possessing the image and likeness of God. Beloved this ongoing eternal process of knowing God and knowing ourselves as God’s image and extension….which will inadvertently lead to us being fruitful and prosperous was the original godly intent of SEX.

 

Beloved I want to suggest to you; that intimacy with God was the very design of ultimate joy that humanity was to receive in their fellowship with God. But what happened when we sinned, our ultimate vision of who we really are was taken away from us, and now man needing that intimacy resulted in finding it from each other instead of God. Adam did well to retain the knowledge of God, hence his ability to prosper and be fruitful and maintain some sort of fellowship with God even after he was driven out of the immediate presence of God, he still enjoyed the Grace of God. But what happened when man started knowing each other (Sex =Carnal Knowledge), instead of God humanity became shortsighted, and the image of who they are was polluted, the devil continued to entice them to turn their focus on knowing each other instead of God, and by the time they had children and great grandchildren, they had lost sight of who they are. Hence Romans 1:26 said

 

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves;  the penalty of their error which was due.

 

And v. 28 continues

 

“being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving,  unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”

 

But then what humanity failed to realize was that if only they retained the knowledge of God, the joy and pleasures of Sex will be met first and foremost in God. Do you remember when Jesus was about to ascend to Heaven, he said to them;

 

These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” ~Jn 15:11, Jn 14:27~

 

Note “Not as the world gives do I give to you” beloved of God what kind of peace or joy does the world give to us, if not for Sexual immorality and Carnality; that is the world’s system, but note that kind of peace will only let your heart be troubled. Whenever humanity shuns intimacy with God, they will yearn for intimacy with each other. Even those who have intimacy with God, once they fail to retain the word of God, sexual immorality and carnality will set in. I urge you to always find the word of God and regain the knowledge of God whenever you find yourself thinking unpure thoughts, for by one man’s obedience Christ; we are now leaving eternally in the Eden (immediate presence of God), and we have a High Priest who knows our infirmities and weakness, and has been tested in all ways…Surrender your will to Him in faith and He will work out your Salvation for you into its utmost Perfection.

 

In Heaven, believers shall know fully God as we have been fully known. We shall see God is his fullness and Glory and Power and likewise we shall see ourselves in the fullness of the image of God. We will realize that the Son is in the Father and the Father in the Son and we in Him (Christ). We will find out that we (our gifts, talents, personality, identity, traits and intellects) are all extensions of the image of God. We will find out that after all we are not as different from God as the Devil has deceived us to think. It will be sad for anyone to miss the culmination of this final Revelation of humanity. The artist will see the artistic ability and colors of God, the chef and our mothers will smell the fragrance of God as a sweet smelling perfume, the sports man will begin to see God in all his power and might, the musician will hear the melody of power of the voice of the Arch angels and the heavenly choir, the Pastor and Leader will see Christ rule and exercise his governance and if they be found worthy will join in ruling the heavenly Kingdom as the word of God has said. The intense pleasure and joy of knowing God in his fullness and Glory cannot be compared to the joys and pleasures of Sex, and we will finally realize that Sex is only a shadow of the intense pleasure that comes from having true and genuine intimacy with God through the risen King and Messiah – Christ. We will have as it is, an eternal orgasmic joy of great intensity that no one will ever have any desire for Sex, this feeling will only multiply as we worship, love and behold his image, our image to its fullness.
