My name is Edina Wesa. I am from Kisumu City, Kenya. I am a single mother with one brave and special son. My 6 year old son David Reagan Barasa was born seven (7) months pre-mature. He was born three (3) months earlier than the expected delivery date. As a result, David was diagnosed with congenital cerebral palsy and presented with quadriparesis, spasms, and widespread joint stiffness. To avoid further health complications, David had to begin immediate physiotherapy.
For many years my son have had to battle for his life through many painful and life-threatening conditions. David has a lot of pain in his hip bone, he cannot extend his leg, there is pop sound I attempt to stretch his leg, he has no head control, he cannot sit, he cannot stand, his speech is slurred, he keeps getting heavier, he toilets on himself, bathing him is a great challenge, and his condition keeps getting worse.
As a mother, the most depressing thing is to watch my hopeless child lay on his back screaming every day fighting for his life and every possible breath. This journey has indeed has been very tough and challenging for myself and my son. Despite the severity of David’s physical incapabilities, his physiotherapist “Gabriel Omondi” in charge of his case discovered that he has excellent cognitive abilities which can be natured through a specialized educational placement. I am kindly requesting financial help and support to operate my son and enhance his social and personal development.
His current medical procedure will cost about 200,000 kenyan shillings which is about $2,000 US Dollars. The more his condition worsens, his situation will only get tougher and tougher. You immediate help is needed to save my son David!
