This article presents the issue of the competence of purchasing specialists. The author presents these connections and relationships – reveals hidden structures generating current activating assistance practice and defining the logics of its functioning. It comes to the conclusion that these practices are primarily driven by increasing tensions between the world of capital and the world of labour. The article aims at explaining why nowadays employees’ relevant competences are believed to have such significant role. The research was initiated after noticing a gap in the existing studies in the field of purchasing competence management. The conclusions characterize the overall picture of job offers for positions in the purchasing department in the context of the implementation of an effective recruitment process. The purpose of the work is to answer the question of what are the required competencies of employees when recruiting for the position of purchasing specialist in a modern enterprise. Work gives women the chance of being active in professional and public life. Academic centres are a part of bigger system, which include agencies responsible for the functioning of higher education or agendas regulating job market activity.
