Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. ~John 15v13, Eph 3v18~
What if I told you that true love couldn’t exist on this side of eternity, what if I told you that what you consider to be true love if it was a choice, an option you made and can unmake, if true love becomes something that you choose to fall into and can decide to fall out of, then it isn’t really true love.
If the one your in relationship with told you they don’t want to get married ever and they don’t want to have kids, would you still love them, would you still be with them, well what if they told you they are impotent after you get married, would you still be with them, well what if your husband or wife cheats on you with your sister or friend, would you still be with them, if the answer to these hard questions is NO then I can boldly tell you that true love did not really exist in the first place.
The idea of divorce is the clearest example that true love is simply a figment of our imagination or an illusion we buy into to help the continuity of life.
But the truest form of Love is the Love of God, God doesn’t choose to love and not love based on what you do and don’t do, once He the Lord establishes a covenant of Love with you in the context of marriage, NOTHING you do on this side of eternity can change his mind. You know why because GOD IS LOVE. In fact he is bound by this LOVE yet FREED by it, so that HE LOVES FREELY AND UNCONDITIONALLY because it is his very nature, he can’t help but LOVE THOSE HE HAS SAID HE WILL LOVE. For God so LOVED the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
A man/woman who understands the depth, breath, and width of God’s amazing nature of Love will fear no man, no demon and no thing. Establish that COVENANT OF LOVE right now, GET MARRIED TO JESUS and you will never cease to experience that LOVE FOR ALL ETERNITY.
